Type: Very popular sandy beach.
Ownership: Split between a number of different ownerships.
Access: From car park down 35 steep steps with handrail or via concrete slipway.
Disabled access: There is a steep, slipway ramp down onto the soft sand.
Parking: 900 spaces, open 24 hours a day, 75m from beach, charges apply.
Facilities: Beach shop, café (50m), pub across causeway on Burgh island, ferry access, toilets 100m with showers and baby changing. Telephone box on village road behind car park.
Lifeguard: RNLI lifeguard service operates 4th May to 29th September.
Activities: Walking paths. Swimming, surfing, windsurfing.
Dogs: Dogs are not permitted on the main central part of the beach at any time of day between 1st May and 30th September inclusive.
Barbecues: Unknown, please read the FAQs.
Slipway access: There is a slipway ramp to the beach from the main car park and a second one at the eastern end of the beach (Sedgewell slip).
