Type: Popular, sandy beach, sheltered from west winds.
Ownership: South Hams District Council.
Access: Six concrete steps to beach or concrete ramp.
Disabled access: Wheelchair access onto beach via concrete ramp.
Parking: Car park privately owned by the Tides Reach Hotel. 30 spaces. Charges apply. 50m from beach.
Facilities: Toilets 40m, beach café, watersports and equipment hire from South Sands Sailing. Refreshments. Ferry to Salcombe. Telephone box at entrance to car park.
Lifeguard: None.
Activities: Suitable water area for young children when supervised. Coastal walks. Water sports. Swimming with no strong currrents when calm.
Dogs: Dogs are not permitted on the beach at any time of day between 1st May and 30th September inclusive.
Barbecues: Unknown, please read the FAQs.
Slipway access: Owned by South Hams District Council, managed by South Sands Sailing under contract to the council. Launching of craft permitted. Launching fees and beach boat parking permits available from South Sands Sailing and Salcombe Harbour Office.
