Natural Bee keeping course

Host High Nature Centre
Type of event Bee keeping

Join High Nature Centre with Emily Reed for an alternative method of beekeeping guided by the biology and natural behaviour of the honeybee. This bee-centric approach is non-intrusive, low intensity and far less work; it reduces stress on Bees and beekeepers to mutual benefit. Non-treated colonies can adapt to varroa, live in harmony with people and provide a modest honey harvest.

Students will be shown how to use a Warre Hive to support the bee but the bee centric principles can be applied to other hive types.
