Sense of Place project
During 2012 we worked with the local communities of Holbeton and Wembury, as part of a larger European funded project.
The objectives of the scheme were to look at ways of engaging local communities to look at perceptions of landscape and how our landscape has changed. We also looked at methods of mapping this information.
We worked with people in all kinds of ways to get them out and exploring their landscape, many of them went to places in their own parish which they had never been to before! As part of the project, participants recorded what their landscape meant to them and how it made them feel.
This information was collected and pinned to a point on a Google map, making a giant pinboard of drawings, photos, poems, artwork, journeys and stories which recorded what it means to people to live in a protected landscape.
