You’ll be spoilt for choice in the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). There are many water sports providers offering sessions, equipment hire, and even professional coaching.

Activities include kite surfing, kite buggying, coasteering, diving, surfing, sea kayaking and stand up paddleboarding. Why not hire equipment or book some lessons!

  • Dart Adventures has instructors and guides who can take you mountain biking, stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, sailing and coasteering.
  • Discovery Surf School provide professional coaching for all ages and abilities with an emphasis on safe, high quality tuition in small groups.
  • Falcon of Dart offers diving charters and Dart Estuary and coastal boat trips.
  • Sea Breeze Sports is a kitesurfing, buggy, landboard and speedflying school and shop.
  • Sea Kayak & SUP Salcombe are based on the Salcombe Estuary and offer kayaking and stand up paddle boarding.
  • Sea-N-Shore Ltd provide waterski and wakeboarding sessions, rib charters and boat hire, sea safari and wildlife tours, boat trips, seal watching trips, coasteering, powerboating and rib rides along the coast.
  • Totnes Kayaks offers sit-on-top kayak and canoe hire on the River Dart.
  • Waterborn offers stand up paddle boarding tuition.

While enjoying your water sport take time to appreciate the treasures hidden below you. If you’re lucky, you’ll see crabs, fish, birds, even seals and dolphins.

Here are some tips to look after them and their environment:

  • Keep noise to a minimum.
  • Keep your distance when you spot wildlife.
  • Take everything home that you brought with you.
  • Leave the site as you found it.
