Join us for fun and games at our farm picnic
South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) is organising a Farm Picnic by the stream at Higher Grimpstonleigh Farm near East Allington from 11am – 2pm on Sunday 14th July.
At the start of the event farmer Kim Harvey will lead a walk through the fields from the top of the farm to the picturesque Tor Brook. There will be time for exploring and making tiny rafts to enter into the ‘Great Tor Brook’ mini boat races and the ‘Wild Woods’ team will be on hand organising a range of activities including a treasure hunt, scavenger hunt, wood cookies and colour bingo.
AONB Communities Officer Nicky Bailey said “We’re hoping the fine weather will hold for this event at Grimpstonleigh Farm which will be held in the stunning Tor Brook valley. There will be lots of exciting family activities in a location that’s not normally open to the public and it’s the perfect place to enjoy a picnic.”
Bring lunch, a blanket to sit on and lots of water to drink, as well as shoes to wear in the water. Not suitable for pushchairs due to walk through steep fields.
Adult £4, child £2.
Meet at Grimpstonleigh Farm, East Allington TQ9 7QH. (Just off the main road between East Allington and Kingsbridge)
