Landscapes For Life Conference

The theme for this year’s conference was water. Held in Ipswich, delegates came together to discuss the part that the UKs Protected Landscapes Family has in ensuring that our water systems are well managed and our environment is safeguarded for future generations.

An Accord entitled 'Towards Sustainable Tourism in England's AONBs”  was signed at the event. It provides opportunities for greater collaboration between the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) family, Defra and VisitEngland and acknowledges the importance of AONBs as being at the centre of the development of Sustainable Rural Tourism.

More news on South Devon AONB's involvement in a sustainable rural tourism programme will be in the next ebulletin.
