New trail brings Galmpton’s heritage alive

Galmpton & Churston District Local History Group has launched a brand new leaflet celebrating the areas unique heritage.

The ‘Galmpton Village Trail and History’ publication has been devised with the support of the Manor Inn and Galleon Stores and Post Office, Galmpton. 

This new leaflet, designed by luketom.com of Torquay has created interpretation of Galmpton's thousand year old unique heritage into the 21st century in magnificent style and the History Group committee are delighted with the results. It is hoped the new publication will appeal to both the local community and visitors alike with a choice of three walks in and around the village.

Local Historian and Chairman of the Group John Risdon commented “We are really excited to be launching this new self guided trail which can help everyone to explore the area and learn more about its past.” South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (S Devon AONB) Communities Officer Nicky Bailey said “This superb leaflet will help people to get out and explore their countryside deepening their connection with the landscape.”

The brochure costing £1 provides accessible mapping to highlight historic buildings and other places of interest with Galmpton's thriving and active community.

The Exhibitionwas held in conjunction with South Devon AONB as part of its Brixham Peninsula Routeways  and Connections Project  and Catchment Connections Project of which Galmpton is an integral part

The new publication is be available through the Manor Inn, and the Galleon Stores, Galmpton.
