18 Feb March Partnership Committee event
CITiZAN presentation
The event at Kingswear Village Hall starts at 9am with a presentation from Grant Bettinson of the community archeology project CITiZAN. CITiZAN collaborates with local groups to record and understand intertidal and coastal archaeology. Grant will be talking specifically about the South Devon Rivers programme which stretches from Wembury to Seaton with a focus on the tidal reaches of the Rivers Exe, Teign and Dart. This features a number of walking workshops, the next one from Start Point to Slapton Sands on 8th March.
Open Forum
The presentation will be followed by an Open Forum from 9.35 – 9.50am. This is an opportunity for members of the public to share their views about the National Landscape with Chairman John Green and National Landscape Manager Roger English.
The National Landscape Partnership Committee follows from 10am until 12 noon, the public may attend this meeting as observers.
National Landscape Manager Roger English commented “We are delighted that Grant is making this presentation. Collaborating with local groups the Programme will enable Citizan to record and better understand the wide range of archaeological features, including abandoned boats and barges, the remains of coastal industries and lost prehistoric landscapes.”
The Agenda for the meeting will be on National Landscape website at least a week before the meeting:
