New format for National Landscape Partnership Event

New format for National Landscape Partnership Event

The National Landscape Partnership Committee is staging a public presentation and Open Forum prior to its Partnership Committee Meeting on Friday 6th December.

The event at Holbeton Village Hall starts at 9am with a presentation from Gary Jolliffe of ‘Till the Coast is Clear’ focussing on shoreline plastic pollution and related themes.  Environmental entrepreneur Gary travels the South West Coastline collecting otherwise impossible to reach plastic and debris from creeks, caves and tiny beaches. Covering over 100 miles of coastline the boat is funded by recycling specialists, Coastal Recycling.

The presentation will be followed by an Open Forum from 9.35 – 9.50am. This is an opportunity for members of the public to  share their views about the National Landscape with  Chairman John Green and National Landscape Manager Roger English.

The National Landscape Partnership Committee follows from 10am until 12 noon, the public may attend this meeting as observers. National Landscape Manager Roger English commented “We are delighted that Gary is making a presentation prior to our meeting. His is an innovative and  hands on solution to the problem of plastic and other waste that’s out of sight and out of mind, tucked away where people rarely go.”

“The Open Forum is a new initiative to give people the opportunity to talk to us directly about  issues of concern, we are  looking forward to engaging with the local community.”
