Bantham Beach

Type
Very popular sandy beach.
Ownership
Privately owned (The Bantham Estate).
Access
Easy access from car park through soft sand. At northern end nine concrete steps with handrail.
Disabled access
Disabled access is possible. Fairly easy gradient from car park to the beach (200m).
Parking
Private car parking. 200m from beach. 750 spaces. Charges apply.
Facilities
Toilets 300m at end of car park. Pub nearby in Bantham village and local Post Office and shop 700m.
Lifeguard
RNLI lifeguard service operates 4th May to 30th September.
Activities
Surfing, suitable water area for young children when supervised, swimming, walking paths, no equipment hire.
Dogs
Dogs are not permitted on the main part of the beach at any time of day between 1st May and 30th September inclusive.
Barbecues
Allowed in the car park, but disposable ones allowed on the beach if used sensibly. Please read the FAQs.
Slipway access
Small slipway located by the turning circle in the village, leading down to the estuary quayside, but with a very steep and narrow approach road.
