03 Aug Temporary South West Coast Path at Slapton

Plans to realign and rebuild the storm-damaged A379 between Slapton and Strete Gate have been approved and are underway.

A temporary South West Coast Path is in place until October 2018, taking you around the perimeter of the works area and along the beach. The beach is shingle which makes for difficult walking, so please take this into account when planning your walk. You will need to allow extra time to complete this section too. If you are just looking for a shorter walk to enjoy and do not like walking on shingle then we suggest visiting the ‘Walks’ section of our website to find a suitable alternative whilst these works take place.
